I Do! Hair Do?

I didn't go for a hair trial before my wedding. What in the world was I thinking?! Even though I absolutely loved the way my hair came out for my wedding, I don't know why I had so much faith that I didn't go for a trial!

I strongly recommend you do a hair and makeup trial before your wedding, perhaps 3-4 weeks before your wedding is the perfect time because you won't be too busy with the last minute details and your hair will be about the same length on the day of your wedding.

When you go for the trial, make sure you bring a picture of what you have in mind so that your hairstylist know exactly what you want. Also remember to bring all your hair accessories with you, veil, hair jewelry, tiara, etc. so that your hairstylist will not be caught by surprised on the day of your wedding.

Bring a family member or a friend with you to the trial to get her honest opinion. Have her take lots of pictures of your hairdo for reference.

Here's a wonderful website you can go to to upload your photo and choose some bridal hair styles you might want to try, at least you can see it on you before you do the trial! Isn't that wonderful? The Hair Styler has lots of ideas for all types of hair, check it out.

Montage-a-google

I was recently introduced to this cool tool called Montage-a-google. For those of you looking for ideas for your theme color, here's an easy and fun way to get images for inspiration. This online application searches for images based on the keywords you enter in. It uses google's image search and then with the images generated, it automatically creats a montage.

Here's what came up when I entered in "seashell favors"... (click on the images to enlarge)

"yellow wedding"

"black red wedding"

"blue wedding"

"purple wedding"

It's fun! Try it with your theme now!

Wedding Mapper

Busy busy busy time of the year! As wedding season is fast approaching, I have been busy making invitations and programs for brides and grooms. What is especially busy about this wedding season is that I have my own wedding to plan too.

I started to design my invitation a couple of weeks ago and we're now in the production stage week #1. Like most brides and grooms, I included a map insert with each of our invitation. For those of you making your own invites, Wedding Mapper is just the perfect tool for you to make your very own professional looking map. It is a free personalized and interactive map that allows you to share with your guests where everything is taking place on your big day. It allows you to add markers of where your church is, the venue location, the spot where you got engaged, shows your favorite restaurants, local attractions, and other option are also available. Once you are done exploring and creating your wedding map, you can then send a link to your guests, embed your map into your wedding website, and print out the map as an insert for your invitations. You can even add wedding photos to your map after your big day takes place.

Have fun!

Color Schemes for your Events

Colors are very important for your events as they convey a certain mood, style and personality. Are you at a loss for what colors to use as the theme for your events? With websites and tools such as DeGraeve, Color Hunter, Big Huge Labs, and Colour Lovers, they make things easier for us by coming up with a palette suggestion according to the photo you upload. So if you have a favorite image or logo you would like to incorporate into your event, the color generators will take that image and come up with a color palette for your inspiration. DeGraeve even generates a dull color palette and a vibrant color palette so you will be sure to find the colors that best suits your event.

Your Wedding Company also provides color schemes for your inspiration.
