Gold and Ivory with a Touch of Blue!

A heart warming email I received from my client...

"Thank you so so much for making everything work out exactly the way both myself and granddaughter wanted it. For two people who never had a meeting you understood everything the way we wanted it. It was super great she cried her eyes out when she saw the room."

Yup, that's right! The Grandmother and I have never met each other until a few hours before the celebration was to begin! Since April, I've been working with Grandmother of a young lady who was turning 18 in September. The celebration was to take place at Chateau Vaudreuil with 30 families and friends. Grandmother designed the entire party and everything was a surprise. Everything, except the centerpieces, which Grandmother did ask for Granddaughter's approval, hehe!

Grandmother contacted me to create some gold and ivory feather centerpieces for the evening, but ended up with so much more as we brainstormed different ideas together. Here's what we have arranged together for the celebration Grandmother gave to Granddaughter...

The Pastry Pedestals

If I ask for suggestions on how to creatively display cupcakes I am making for a party tonight, I'm sure most people would suggest a decorated tired cupcake stand or display them on some stacked up boxes.  What do I say to them?  C'mon!  Be more creative!  Check out these amazing Pastry Pedestals!

These will be perfect for your next event!  Whether it's bridal shower, baby shower or a birthday party!  These Pastry Pedestals can be personalized to match your event theme!  Be creative and put a decorative paper on the pedestal.  You can even decorate around the pedestal with a ribbon and some hanging beads!

What else can you do with these?  Think beyond cupcakes!  Use them for candies, chocolates and fruits!

Cupcakes, Cupcakes!

I did a post on cupcakes a year and a half ago, it was the new trend to have cupcakes instead of a traditional wedding cake and cupcakes continue to be a huge hit at weddings and the designs just keep getting more and more creative!

Cute little tuxedo wedding cupcakes.

I absolutely love these black and white cupcakes!
Oooo and these! Oh I can't pick my favourite anymore!
I mentioned them before and here they are again, the benefits of opting for cupcakes instead of a traditional cake. The number one benefit is that they are a lot more affordable than a tiered wedding cake. Other pros are:
- you can bake and decorate your own to add that personal touch
- great for a ladies get-together activity before you hit the aisle
- more environmentally friendly when using a corrugated cardboard cupcake stand instead of wires and tubes for the structure of your tiered cake

Do you still want to keep the traditional and cut the cake? Why not have a cake as the cake topper for your cupcakes??

Happy Cupcakes!
