One of the members of Wedding Planners Institute of Canada from Calgary is having a contest. Inspired Occasions is giving away 16 personalized welcome packages to your out-of-town guests! The prize is valued at over $100.

Discounted Hotel Rates

Winter will be here before you know it! If you’re planning a winter wedding, here’s a great tip for you. Did you know that most hotels are more than happy to give you a discounted group rate for your guests? The truth is that business hotels are dying to occupy their rooms on the weekends, especially during December and January. During the holiday seasons, they do get a lot of business in their ballrooms, but not for room occupancy. So if you’re having a winter wedding and have a lot of out-of-town guests, remember to call hotels around town and negotiate a great deal! Even if your wedding is in the summer, hotels will most likely be willing to give you group rates too, so do not ever settle for their rack rates! With that said, DO make sure you confirm that your guests are coming before you guarantee a certain number of rooms, otherwise you will have to pay a penalty if you end up occupying fewer rooms than promised.
