If you're a DIY bride like myself, I would encourage you to make your own. Think of unique packaging you can do with the hot chocolate mix, perhaps in a tin can with your monogram sticker on it tied with a ribbon? Your guests would definitely appreciate some hot chocolate mix in a mug! You might also want to get personalized mugs to go with the mix.
You can do a Spiced Cocoa Mix or an Instant Cocoa Mix with Marshmallow. Just thinking about them makes me all warm inside!

Spiced Cocoa Mix
- 2 cups powdered milk
- 3/4 cup sugar
- 1/2 cup cocoa powder
- 1/2 cup non-dairy creamer powder
- 1/2 tsp nutmeg, ground
- 1/4 tsp cardemom, ground
- 1/4 tsp cloves, ground
Instant Cocoa Mix with Marshmallow
- 1 pkg (25 ounces) nonfat dry milk powder
- 1 1/2 cups non-dairy coffee creamer, about 6 ounces
- 3 cups (16 ounces) instant chocolate drink mix
- 1 1/2 cups powdered sugar
- 1 1/2 cups miniature marshmallows
Preparation:Combine all ingredients and store in an airtight container. Give with directions below. Makes 16 cups. Enough cocoa mix for 4 1-quart jars to give, or split into small portions packed in decorative bags in mugs.
In a mug, combine 1/2 cup of mix with 1 cup of boiling water.
